Ryan Sitton leads Crossfit workout at the Texas capitol

Commissioner Sitton Leads State Employees in a CrossFit Workout

Ryan Sitton believes in living a healthy lifestyle. That means eating healthy and working out. He and Land Commissioner George P. Bush led state employees in an afternoon CrossFit-style workout on the lawn at the Texas capitol.

“We thought, what a great way to get out and do this in a more public fashion to remind everyone that we work for Texas and that this is an important thing to do,” said Sitton. The Railroad Commission has 820 full-time employees. The Texas General Land Office has 572.

The two bosses hope to highlight a work-life balance.

“We hear constantly about the cost of healthcare, and the cost of being healthy,” said Sitton. “And what is missing in that whole conversation is the number one way to keep your costs of health care down is to stay in good health, which is diet and fitness.”

Ryan's commitment to education and the value of teachers

He spends a lot of his time with teachers now, serving with and training them on leadership at Carter-Lomax Middle School in Pasadena. Teachers have countless opportunities to positively impact lives.

Ryan Sitton addresses the rise of socialism among the Democrats.

Why is Socialism Making a Comeback in the US?

Why is socialism making a comeback in the United States? It has failed everywhere it has been tried and is failing right now in Venezuela. Socialism destroys freedom and is responsible for millions of deaths across the last century. But the Democrats are more and more running as socialists – and more younger voters tell pollsters they’re ok with socialism. Why? It may come down to branding.
